DOMAINE GUIRARDEL, ‘UGO', SUR LE FIL’, JURANCON, SOUTH WEST, FRANCE

Organic/Biodynamic (Practising)

Think you know Jurancon well think again after you've tasted this beauty.

Domaine Guirardel are based in the Monein of the Jurancon and is certified Organic and practising Biodynamic Farming wherever possible.

The domaine has its history way back in the 16th century and is now comprising of 5ha of Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng. The vineyards went organic in 2011.

This particular wine, 'Sur Le Fil', saw the grapes harvested at the end of October, with the wine being fermented completely dry. It was then aged for 2 years in 400ltr oak barrels without any sulphur additions.

It's an intriguing wine filled with aromas of quince, apricots, and ripe orchard fruits. I love the medium yet dry palate that has so much complexity and character and is powerful and zesty.

This is certainly one to be looking out for for those who love their Natural Wines and want to try something truly unique. I'm certainly bawled over by it. Just wow.
