FATTORIA DI SAMMONTANA, ‘SANFIRENZE’, CHIANTI SUPERIORE, CHIANTI, TUSCANY, ITALY, 2017

Organic with Biodynamic principles

A true delight....

Chianti is a region in Tuscany, Italy that specialises in a local grape known as Sangiovese.

I've always had this thing about Sangiovese. It's always been a place for terrific value for money in my view, offering super tasty wines that pair really well with food.

Fattoria Di Sammontana is an Organic farm with Biodynamic methods who are located near Montelupo Fiorentino near Florence. They have 13 ha of vineyards all planted around 70 to 150 meters above sea level. They became certified organic in 2009 and started using biodynamic methods in 2012 and only permit very low sulphur usage.

The wine spends one year in old barrels then a couple of years in bottle.

This is a fantastic experience to taste this wine. It's generous, earthy, but with plenty of bright red fruits, spices and fresh herbs too. It's a fun wine and worth trying for sure.

You can buy it from the team @modalwines shop.modalwines.com, price on request.
