JUDITH BECK, ‘OUT’, AUSTRIA, 2018

Biodynamic/Natural

Yet another stella gem from the delightful Judith Beck. For those who don’t know her, she’s rather good at the whole ‘natural wine’ thing down in the Burgenland, Austria.

Her approach has always been one of letting the vineyards do the talking, and allowing nature to showcase itself, with minimal interferance wherever possible. She’s also Biodynamic.

This is a delicious blend of Blaufränkisch & Zweigelt that saw a spontaneous ferment with native yeasts then a 10 month ageing in old oak before bottling.

The wine is medium bodied, dry, and super juicy. I love those fresh red & dark berry characters, alongside that subtle spiceness also. It’s not overtly funky tbh, just really fun and super easy to drink (like most of her wines to be fair).

I purchased this bottle from the team at Beer Ambleside - beergb.com for £21.

ABV - 12%
